Glen Davis, Glen Alice and Newnes residents have been put on alert.
Smoke from the fire is thick in the air over the Bathurst region, with the NSW Government's regional air monitoring service confirming just how bad conditions are at present.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
Bathurst and Orange are currently showing an Air Quality Index (AQI) reading of 298, putting the air quality in the hazardous category.
The Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH) warns that visibility has been affected across the region and urges people with heart and lung disease should avoid exercising outdoors.
