The above-average maximums will begin on Tuesday when the region can expect a top of 32 degrees Celsius, and it will continue rising from there.
On Wednesday the Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting a maximum of 34 degrees followed by 36 on Thursday, 35 on Friday and 33 on Saturday before falling back to 29 degrees Celsius on Sunday.

The outlook is bleak for much-needed rain across the region with just the slightest chance of showers from Friday to Monday.
