On three occasions this year my car has been hit by trolleys that have been left on the William Street and Howick Street footpaths and in the Stockland (Armada) car park.

A friend's new car was also hit by a runaway trolley in the car park.
This morning at about 11.30am I parked my car in William Street Bathurst near the entrance to the mall where Coles is situated and a trolley rolled down the footpath and hit my car.
The footpath up and down that block was littered with trolleys mainly from Coles and some from Big W and Woolworths.
At the entrance to the mall there were about six trolleys pushed up against the doors.
I have never seen an Aldi or the small Coles trolley left in the car park or on any street and I believe this is because they take a coin, therefore customers have an incentive to return the trolley in order to retrieve the coin.
These trolleys are a public nuisance not only unsightly but dangerous to children, the elderly and to vehicles.
I call on these supermarkets to step up to their community responsibilities and install a coin slot in all their trolleys.
I hope the general public will also voice their concerns to the supermarkets responsible.
