BATHURST Panthers pair Maackenzie Atkins and Nathan Ward played their part in NSW Country Under 18s' comfortable victory over the Leeds Rhinos 18s in opening match of their UK Tour on Sunday.

Atkins scored the final try of the match for the visiting Australian squad to push the final margin out to 34-4 at the new Emerald Headingley stadium.
NSW were able to secure victory with ease despite giving up the first points of the match and having a player sent to the sin bin in the second half.
Leeds took the early advantage when centre Coby Nichol charged through a hole in the NSW defence but after an error they let the visitors level the scores through Forbes talent Jack Hartwig.
A try to Phoenix Vetenibua-Finnerty put the NSW boys ahead for the first time in the match, and a conversion to Tyrone Roberts made it 10-4.
Possession remained even throughout the half but it was the country team creating the better chances.
NSW's Liam Tindall intercepted the ball just as Leeds looked like scoring, though an error denied him the chance to score a try of his own.
Roberts also came close to scoring off the back of an error to the home side but the Leeds defence scrambled to prevent the try.

Nathan Kegg-King pounced on a grubber kick to extend the advantage to 12 points before half-time.
There was more joy for the Central West contingent shortly after the break when Parkes' Ben Lovett crossed the stripe.
Wellington's Rylee Blackhall was given a stint in the sin bin after an on-field scuffle but NSW Country defence didn't allow any more points.
With 10 minutes remaining it was Leeds' turn to have a player in the bin after Joe Gibbons threw the ball at Atkins.
NSW took advantage through Kane Smith to push the score out to 28-4.
Atkins put the icing on the cake not long after Leeds were back to 13 men, scoring in the corner to end an eventful contest.
The next match for the NSW boys will be against the England Community Lions in the early hours of Sunday morning Australian time.
