The Western NSW Local Heath District [WNSWLHD] is inviting members of the Bathurst community to hear about a draft plan to guide the future development of clinical and support services at Bathurst Health Service.
The Bathurst Community and Region Integrated Clinical Services Plan will guide clinical and support services at Bathurst Health Service over the next ten years.
"This is our plan for delivering high quality public care to meet the future health and well-being needs of people living in the Bathurst region," a spokesperson from the WNSWLHD said.
"The plan was informed by a comprehensive assessment of health need, current and future service activity and extensive consultation."
In April, May and June of this year, the WNSWLHD held a public forum and consultation meetings to inform the development of a clinical services plan for Bathurst Health Service.
"The consultation was extremely positive, with health service staff given strong acknowledgement for the work they do," a spokesperson from the WNSWLHD said.
Bathurst health advocate John Kellett hopes the new plan will yield positive results for the future of health services in the Bathurst region.
"We need to shift from a health system overly reliant on profit to one that focuses on the health and well-being of the community," Mr Kellett said.
"At the end of the day, this plan must put the patients first."
The meeting will be held in the ground floor conference room of Bathurst Health Service's Heritage Building from 10.30am to 12.00pm on Friday, November 29.
To RSVP for the the feedback sessions or to gain more information, call 6369 8076 or email WNSWLHD-HIU-Helpdesk@health.nsw.gov.au.
The cut-off date for RSVP's is 5pm tomorrow.
For those unable to attend the meeting, information on how to provide feedback will be available on the WNSWLHD website from tomorrow.
The WNSWLHD may run an additional consultation session if there is sufficient interest shown for tomorrow's meeting.
