Scores were running just as hot as the weather at the Bathurst Golf Club for the vets day on Monday, November 25, with all the winners having to play well above their handicaps to get on the podium.
Best score on the day was A grade winner Brian Long who carded an excellent 40 points for the round.
Two birdies on the front nine, followed up with two more birdies on the back nine set up a round that Brian will remember for a while.
Not that far behind in second place was Graham Tyson who played a very solid round of 20 points on the front nine and 18 on the back nine for an excellent 38 points.
Two very consistent players shared the podium in B grade with Robert Raithby edging out Dick O'Donnell to win first place.
Raithby started with a very impressive 21 points on the front nine and 17 points on the back nine for a round of 38 points.
O'Donnell started off slowly with 16 points of the front nine but came home strongly with 20 points on the back nine for a round of 36 points
In the nearest to the pin competitions the winners were, Brian Little on the fourth, Brian Long on the eighth, Bryan M'Crystal on the 13th and Dick Northey on the 16th.
The ball sweep went down to 31 points.
In the next round of Central West Vets Golf, action will be held at Orange's Wentworth Golf Club on Monday, December 2.
