On Saturday at Menangle Park the six-year-old gelding Jenny Turnbull owns and her daughter Amanda Turnbull drives produced a blistering run over the mile to win the Australian Pacing Gold Pace.
He clocked a career best 1:51.8 mile rate as he made it three wins from seven starts this season.
Though the field was reduced to just four runners as the smokey conditions led to a host of late scratchings, the effort of Christmas Toyboy ($3.50) was nonetheless impressive.

Christmas Toyboy was some 15 metres off the pace into the back straight as Turnbull let her rivals work through a blistering 54.2 seconds first half. It meant when she him to give he responded.
He had the lead with 150m to go and went on to win by 8.5m over $2.20 favourite One Hell Of A Ride.
