The free event is encouraging children to bring their teddy bears along for a picnic to build excitement for Christmas.
Bathurst Community and Family Network [BCFN] chair Annette Meyers said the event will serve as a festive culmination of the organisation's Kids Play events held throughout the year.
"This is a great opportunity for young children and parents in the Bathurst community to get together and forge connections," Ms Meyers said.
"Our target audience is children who are yet to start school, and there will be activities for babies and toddlers of all abilities."
Ms Meyers said there will be a range of activities for children to enjoy.
"There will be Christmas-themed art and craft activities, a teddy bear parade and a large parachute for children to wave around and place their teddies on," she said.
"All we ask is for parents to bring some snacks for their children and dress them in sun-smart clothing."
Ms Meyers said there will be a back-up plan for the picnic in the event of smoky conditions.
"If the smoke lingers, the event will be held at the playground in the Bathurst Chase Shopping Centre, our regular Kids Play location," she said.
"The heat won't be an issue, as we hold this event in the morning before it gets too hot outside."
The event will start at 9.30am on Thursday in Machattie Park and run for an hour.
