Along with the cold and frosty winter fire festival, the annual Millfest street festival reveals another side to the popular historic village.

This Saturday Millfest is on again and the street will be buzzing once more as more than 3000 visitors drop in to grab some great Christmas gifts, sample local produce, enjoy local musicians performing on the centre stage and relax in the heritage listed main street.

Not only will they have more than 60 stalls to browse through, all the village's shops will be open for business.

Volunteer Sue Marsh said that the festival this year will be starting a bit later than previous years, as well as a few other changes.

"We're pushing the starting time back to 2pm with a finish at 7.30pm to allow people to enjoy a relaxed evening meal and a drink of local wine or beer," she said.

"This year it's $5 entry for an adult and free for children, but every entry goes into the draw for some great local prizes including two major prizes of meals, breakfast, accommodation and a wine tour."

The organisers have also ensured that there is ample cover and seating available for everyone to relax in.

Every hour throughout the festival there will be draws made for prizes donated by businesses that operate in and around the village.

"The festival is really a village party where outsiders can become insiders and get a real feel for village life," Mrs Marsh said.
