The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast a top of 41 degrees Celsius on Saturday and health authorities have issued warnings about the need for residents to keep cool.
In response to the extreme conditions, Bathurst Regional Council with Belgravia Leisure are offering free entry to the Manning Aquatic Centre on Saturday and Sunday.

Mayor Bobby Bourke said the community would be looking for some respite from the heat.
"With extreme water restrictions limiting the use of home pools, we are providing free entry to the Manning Aquatic Centre this Saturday and Sunday so everyone in our community has a chance to escape the heat and cool off," he said.
"The indoor pools will also provide relief to those who are suffering from the current smoke pollution caused by the bushfires."
However, people hoping to take advantage of the free entry offer have been warned they may need to be patient.
Pool management will monitor entry numbers across the weekend and, if capacity is reached inside the centre, there may be a delay in allowing more people in.
