The Boxing Day sales saw shoppers hit up some of Bathurst's popular franchise stores, including Harvey Norman, Target, Big W and JB Hi-Fi, in order to score a welcome bargain.
Harvey Norman Bathurst franchisee Ryan Morgan said the store hopes to make the most of the post-Christmas sale period.
"Bathurst as a whole is trending towards big sale periods such as Boxing Day and Black Friday, and we're getting busier and busier each year," Mr Morgan said.
"During these key periods, there's an amazing opportunity for customers to save a couple of dollars."
The Boxing Day sales were first held locally in 2008 after the state government reclassified Bathurst as a tourist destination.
Mr Morgan said customers were enticed by sales on electronic items in particular.

"Televisions are unsurprisingly popular, as certain models have some mind-boggling sale prices," he said.
"For example, a 75-inch Samsung television is on sale for $1459, whereas it was over $2200 before Christmas."
Mr Morgan said while televisions and sound bars have historically been desirable sale items, a few surprise items have sold well this year.
"With the persistent smoky weather, we've received heavy inquiries into air purifiers," he said.
"It's a product range that local customers haven't considered before, but we've received positive responses thus far."
Mr Morgan said the hot weather has had a major effect on air conditioning sales.
"Portable air conditioner sales have been going absolutely crazy, and with more hot weather on the way, we expect this to continue into the new year," he said.
