As a member of the Greater Western Sydney Giants under 18s Academy, Brown's focus is on the NAB League games he will contest and pushing to earn game time in other representative outfits.
But in between those commitments, Brown has indicated he will make himself available to play for the Bushrangers.
He sees the AFL Central West competition as a chance to aid his preparation in a less intense environment.
"I'm planning on hanging around in Bathurst until hopefully November. Then I am making the jump across to Sydney to hopefully go to university as well as playing football," he said.
"Definitely I will still be playing for the Bushrangers this year, which is something I wasn't expecting to be doing.
"I think because I am playing such high-level football at the moment a break is obviously needed, so playing a few games with the Bushrangers will definitely be needed as sort of a rest and recover and help me get ready for the next games."
Last season while balancing his Year 12 studies and academy commitments, Brown made his senior debut for the Bushrangers Rebels.
He booted seven majors across his eight appearances, which included the grand final win over Orange Tigers.
