Lucky Nutter ($7, Emma Turnbull) held the lead right up until the final few strides of the race when Dunno Jo ($8, Amanda Turnbull) and Rocknroll Ava ($34, Mitch Turnbull) launched attacks down opposite ends of the track.
It was the horse down the inside, Dunno Jo, who got the nod by a head over Rocknroll Ava and Lucky Nutter. Taylors Mill ($6.50, Bernie Hewitt) and Joetomo ($6, Greg Rue) were less than three metres off the winner.
Dunno Jo went back-to-back for the first time in his career after he saluted just two days earlier during Bathurst's Monday night meeting.
There were decent expectations on Dunno Jo after he'd finished third in his Elvis Championship Heat, and the follow up victory at Bathurst ensured he'd attract attention come the final.
The final ended up being a strong betting race as six horses started the race in single digits, the best-backed being Bernie Hewitt's The Mustang ($2.90).
The favourite found the lead early on in the race after coming across from the widest position on the front row.
Dunno Jo comfortably found the sit behind Hewitt's favourite.
The other of Bernie Hewitt's entrants, Taylors Mill, put in the early work to race up three wide and take the death seat away from Gabbys Sportstar.
Emma Turnbull wasn't going to wait around on Lucky Nutter and they clawed their way to the front of the field, with Father Bob in tow.
The trouble signs for The Mustang were evident halfway through the bell lap as driver Doug Hewitt began to work hard on the favourite, losing ground to Lucky Nutter on the outside.
That spelled trouble for Dunno Jo, who was still travelling smoothly behind the tiring favourite.
Luckily for him there was space to the space when the field made their way onto the straight, and Amanda Turnbull latched onto it immediately.
The lost time allowed Lucky Nutter the chance to make a small break away out in front, but plenty of competition was soon to arrive.
Taylors Mill still had plenty to offer down the outside, as did a flying Rocknroll Ava, while Dunno Jo snuck under everyone's radar with the inside dash.
Dunno Jo just got a head in front to produce a finish worthy of the feature race.
The Mustang was a disappointing seventh after fading across the straight.
