I totally agree.
When are the politicians going to look beyond the next election and realise the future benefits of a 100 kilometre an hour motorway west either across or through the Blue Mountains?
That is apart from the total frustration for drivers having to stick to an 80 kilometres an hour speed limit and the constant stopping at traffic lights, which I am sure would be part of the design.
The stated 10 minute time saving [after the proposed upgrade to the Great Western Highway from Katoomba to Lithgow] for a 200 kilometre journey is a joke when, with better design planning, it could be more like 30 minutes.
This cost-cutting (traffic lights) approach appears regularly in place of other more efficient although more costly methods to control traffic at intersections.
