Mark Simons has described the past few days as an "epic adventure" and when you consider how far he's travelled on nothing but his bike, it's hard to disagree.

Mr Simons, better known as the owner of Dedicated to Fitness, road from Bathurst to Adelaide in the space of just four days.
He arrived in the South Australian capital around 1am on Wednesday morning - a day ahead of schedule - after leaving his home on Saturday morning.
All up, the distance covered equates to almost 1300 kilometres.
The idea to ride from Bathurst to Adelaide by bike is something that's been in the works for two years.
"I've been coming down [to South Australia] for about 12-13 years now for the Tour Down Under and my wife and I have come here almost ever different way," he said.
"About two years ago, we flew. I looked out the window and down to the desert below and saw this road with no one it. I thought, I wonder if I could ride across.
"It was one of those crazy thought bubbles and I tried to do it last year, but we had some business changes to focus on so I didn't have the training time to do it.
"This year, everything's worked out fine and I decided it was my year to do it, for no real apparent reason."
The journey begun in the early hours of Saturday morning, with Mr Simons making the trip from Bathurst to West Wyalong, after a wet start with muddy rain.
He continued his journey west on Sunday morning, travelling through some extremely flat land before finally arriving at Hay in the evening.
On Monday, Mr Simons headed towards Victoria and crossed the Murray River near Tooleybuc before ending the day's journey in Ouyen, in north-west Victoria.
On Tuesday, he crossed over the Victorian boarder and into South Australia near the town of Pinnaroo before winding through the Adelaide Hills in the late evening before finally making his way to the state capital just after 1am.
He said the weather was fairly warm the entire trip, hitting a peak of 39 degrees in the early afternoon on Monday.
"It was an epic adventure, that's for sure and there a lot of dark times, obviously without the sun because I was leaving at three in the morning," he said.
"I pretty much saw every weather type you could see. It was everything from 10-11 degrees to close to 40. And on the Saturday morning, from Bathurst to basically Newbridge, it was raining liquid mud at 4.30 in the morning."
Mr Simons will now remain in Adelaide until at least Australia Day, as he attends the Tour Down Under, which runs in around the city from January 21-26.
