TO give someone the shirt off your back - it might be a commonly used idiom but in the wake of the catastrophic bushfires which have impacted Australia, Supercars driver Chaz Mostert will do so in a literal sense.

Well, not his shirt but his race suit.
The former Bathurst 1000 and Bathurst 6 Hour champion will offer his 2020 race suit for auction as part of a gesture from his new team Walkinshaw Andretti United.
The winner of the auction will also have their name printed on the dash of Mostert's WAU Holden for this year's Supercars series.
On top of that are six crew suits and two tickets to sit in the WAU team owners area throughout the Bathurst 1000 in October. The money raised from the auction, which will conclude on Monday night, will go to the Salvation Army.
"WAU and myself and the whole team here are thinking about all the effected areas and our hearts go out to those guys and hope you are nice and safe and can recover," Mostert, one of the most popular drivers on the grid, said.
"WAU is doing an awesome package for all the effected areas out there.
"So make sure you guys give generously, you guys will get an awesome package from us and hopefully my suit throughout the year can get some race wins."
Mostert is not the only driver who has offered the suit off his back to help aid bushfire victims.
The man who won both the 2019 Bathurst 1000 and Supercars series, Scott McLaughlin, auctioned off his 2017 race helmet and a race suit he wore that same season, which was donated by Ryan Story.
The winning big was $46,200, with McLaughlin matching that amount with a donation of his own to take the total to $92,400. That money was split between Red Cross and WIRES.
Two-time Bathurst 100 winner Rick Kelly and his Kelly Racing team-mate Andre Heimgartner have offered up the suits they will wear at this year's Adelaide 500 for auction.
The team is also auctioning off the first ever passenger hots laps in its new-for-2020 Mustangs, a including general admission entry to the Adelaide event and a Kelly Racing pit tour and merchandise pack.
"The Australian bushfires have been absolutely devastating and I can't even begin to imagine what the families impacted are going through right now," team co-owner Todd Kelly said.
"It's important that we as a team and as a sport do what we can to help those affected by supporting charities that are assisting those in need and helping communities recover and rebuild.
"We're auctioning off four great items in Rick and André's very first Mustang hot laps and race suits for the 2020 season, so I encourage everyone to get involved.
"Not only could you be involved in an important part of our team's history, you'll be helping provide assistance to Aussie families in need."
With four days remaining, bidding across those two race suits and two hot lap experiences stands at a total of $8,964.
Triple Eight Race Engineering - an outfit which has enjoyed huge success at Mount Panorama - donated $25,000 to the Red Cross bushfire appeal.
Nathan Pretty has offered his 2002 Bathurst 24-Hour winning race suit as well an autographed poster signed by himself and those men who shared the wheel of the iconic Holden Monaro that year - Garth Tander, Steven Richards and Cam McConville.
Pretty will donate the proceeds from that auction to the Country Fire Authority and Red Cross.
"This is one of my most prized possessions, but want to auction it off to help raise funds for those that have been affected by these horrific fires here in our much loved country," he said.
"Please dig deep to support those in need. I'm so proud to bean Aussie and hear about the stories of the amazing efforts that people are going to help raise funds for those that are now less fortunate."
