Pilots and Rural Fire Service men and women used the air-conditioned Bathurst Aero Club House facilities, including kitchen, restrooms and showers, when returning from and awaiting further sorties.
The Bathurst Aero Club has been pleased to make this contribution to local firefighting efforts.
To see people returning from fighting fires and fall asleep on the club house carpet floors really shows the huge efforts being made through the hot, smoky, dangerous days.
It has been a source of pride to see these aircraft lined up and ready for take off and to know that these Australians were, and continue to be, determined to do their best to fight the bushfire beast.
