Bathurst Regional Council says the work will involve the total closure of the entrance of Coral Way near Suttor Street.
All traffic to and from Coral Way and adjoining streets will need to detour via Mitre and Esrom streets.
Council says the Suttor, Mitre and Lambert streets intersection will remain open under traffic control, but delays are to be expected to the flow of traffic and the speed limit will be reduced to 40 kilometres an hour while the works are underway.
Council says the bus interchange will be relocated to the front of Assumption Church.
Businesses and the nearby taxi rank will remain open, but motorists may need to park in alternative spaces.
The taxi rank may relocate to the basketball stadium as works progress, according to council.
