SASC is just one of eight teams enter in the competition, alongside New Zealand sides Wakatipu High School, Otago Boys' High School, St Bede's College, John McGlashan College, Otago Country, Southland Combined and Southland Boys' High School.
The 12-man team will travel across the Tasman Sea after keeping fit during the school holidays after having played Bathurst club cricket and plenty of net sessions.
"We had training on Wednesday. Most of the boys have been playing regularly over the holidays with nets practice and a few games in local club cricket," coach Phil Cant said.
The team left Bathurst on Friday afternoon and flew out from Sydney on Saturday morning. The team played its first game on Monday against Wakatipu High School, scoring a convincing first innings win.
All matches will be played at the Queenstown Events Centre, which has one of the most magnificent backdrops in the world with the Remarkables mountain range.
All up, each team will play three 55-over games and two Twenty20 matches.
The SASC squad is captained by Ben Cant, who has experience in Bathurst Orange District Cricket Association first grade with St Pat's Old Boys, as well as fellow senior player Hugh Parsons.
"They all do their bit," Cant said of the team.
"A couple of the older boys Hugh [Parsons] and Ben [Cant] lead the team and there's some good younger boys."
Parsons said he expects his captain to score plenty of runs.
"I think with the batting, the main weapon will be Ben Cant, hopefully scoring a lot of runs, as well as Hamish Siegert and Tom Siede," he said.
"With the ball, Gussy Parsons, the tearaway fast bowler should take a few, along with Ralph Nicholls getting a bit of bounce."
Parsons is looking forward to the experience the New Zealand tour will offer for him and his teammates.
"It should be a really good experience for all the boys to play a higher level of quality cricket," he said.
"The opposition should be difficult, but it should be great experience."
