The stage was ferried in on 24 semi-trailers and workers have been busy since late last week assembling the structure.
Matthew Lazarus-Hall, the tour producer on behalf of Chugg Entertainment, said the stage takes six days to fully assemble.
"As we said in our original brief, the stage goes from one side of the football ground to the other," Mr Lazarus-Hall said.
"We're expecting the sound and lighting equipment to turn up today and tomorrow and once complete, the stage will look absolutely amazing."
Elton's Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour has sold out nearly 40 shows across Australia and New Zealand.
Mr Lazarus-Hall said the sale of 20,000 tickets is a pleasing result for Bathurst.
"Around 7500 tickets have been purchased by non-Bathurst residents, with visitors set to travel from as far away as the Northern Territory and Tasmania," he said.
"Bathurst Regional Council and local businesses have been fantastic to work with, and we're expecting a grandiose atmosphere tomorrow night."
Around 15,000 seats will be set up on the ground for diamond, ruby, emerald and sapphire ticket holders, while a further 5000 are expected to populate the hill and the side opposite the grandstand.
Mr Lazarus Hall said the promising ticket sales have opened the door for Bathurst as a viable tour location for high-profile artists.
"We know other promoters are looking at this model, and the sale of 20,000 tickets has only helped Bathurst's potential as a desirable location for international touring acts," he said.
"In addition, our final assessment of the venue has allowed us to make some 'last minute' tickets available, so I encourage anyone who doesn't have a ticket yet to visit the Ticketek site as soon as possible."
Bathurst mayor Bobby Bourke said the excitement for Elton's concert has reached fever pitch in the community.
"A lot of work has gone into putting this stage up and come tomorrow night, we'll see Carrington Park come to life in a brand new way," Cr Bourke said.
"We've had NRL games attract 10,000 people to the venue before but to have a crowd of 20,000 attending tomorrow night is outstanding and this is set to be one of the best events Bathurst has ever had."
