Bathurst's Australia Day events will start early, with the public invited to recognise its Australia Day award recipients at Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre from 5.30pm.
Saturday, January 25
Bathurst Farmers' Markets, a Lions Club project, will be held from 8am to noon at the Bathurst Showground. Meet local growers and taste their healthy, fresh seasonal produce.
The Dance Factory enrolment day 2020 will be held at 76 George Street at 9am.
Sunday, January 26
Australia Day:
- Australia Day in Bathurst will begin with a barbecue breakfast at 8am hosted by the Eglinton War Memorial Hall. Included in the morning will be an official ceremony, national anthem and flag raising, car displays and novelty races and giveaways for the kids. Entry to the event will be free, with a barbecue breakfast on offer for a gold coin donation.
- Citizenship ceremony will be held from 10am at Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre.
- Free entry to the Manning Aquatic Centre will be offered from 11am to 3pm.
- Celebrate Australia Day with a classic afternoon high tea with an Aussie twist from 2.30pm at Abercrombie House.
Monday, January 27
Panthers Bathurst will host a mobile animal exhibition that aims to fascinate, educate and inspire adults and children about the wonderful creatures here in Australia. It's fun, entertaining, humorous and interactive. Call 6330 0600 or visit www.bathurst.panthers.com.au.

Legacy Golf Day will be held on Sunday, February 9 at the Bathurst Golf Club. Money raised will support widows and children of deceased war veterans. Make up a team of four, put your name on the booking sheet at the Bathurst Golf Club or call 6331 1379 to reserve your place.
Polio Australia is inviting survivors of polio, along with their families and carers, to a free community information session on February 3 at 3pm at Bathurst Library. The session will discuss the late effects of polio, how to work well with health professionals, and self-management strategies.
