The ten students will perform as part of a larger ensemble at the Salute to Australia ceremony aboard the HMAS Adelaide and the Australia Day Live concert at the Sydney Opera House.
"This is the first time that regional NSW students have been involved in this event," Mitchell Conservatorium executive director Graham Sattler said.
"It's an important step towards acknowledging the fact there's a broader spectrum of talent outside of Sydney."
The students will perform in front of the Governor of NSW, Margaret Beazley, and the Australia Day Live concert will be broadcast live to an audience of over 900,000 people.
Mr Sattler said the students have been rehearsing for the occasion since November, both locally under the tutelage of conservatorium teacher Michelle Griffin and in Sydney with the larger ensemble.
"They're not just participating in something, they're being highlighted as part of an important day of celebration," he said.
"It's important for the Bathurst community to know that their children are being recognised for their efforts at a state level."
