Josh Burdon lost control of the car and hit the wall at Reid Park, destroying both the front and rear left suspension, to the extent that the rear left wheel was completely ripped out of the car.
The car will take no further part in the event after the team officially withdrew the car citing a safety issue, after discovering more damage than they originally thought to the rear chassis of the car.
Before the incident, Burdon had set the fast lap of the session, with a time of 2:06.5531.
The #18 KCMG Nissan managed to avoid the perilous Mount Panorama concrete for the day recording solid lap times, finishing the 16th, 10th, 3rd and 16th fastest overall on the time sheets.
