Ricky's Breath, which consists of Charlie Dunn on vocals and lead guitar, Harry Cooke on rhythm guitar, Harley Goodman on the bass and Darnell Polsen on the drums, released its debut EP "Living in Australia" on Monday, February 10, fulfilling a massive ambition of the four young rockers.
Now that the EP has officially launched, there's no doubt the band is happy as Larry about it.
The band members met at school - they all currently attend Scots All Saints College - and when they're not in class, there's a good chance they're jamming out and honing their sound.
"I would say, in terms of the current status quo of being in school, it's not that academically sensible that we spend all our time jamming," Dunn said.
"However, I wouldn't rather being doing anything else except jamming and mucking around my friends.
"I can honestly say, all of us are just eager to have fun. None of it's too serious. It's just fun."
Their style draws upon the sounds of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, as well as Australian punk rock band the Chatts and garage rock band the Skeggs.
The band's debut EP is comprised of the first three songs they ever wrote.
"I guess it's basically an example of us finding our sound and experimenting with different styles of rock," Dunn said.
The EP launch will be held at the Little Albert's room at the Victoria Hotel on Friday, March 6, with Sweet Revenge the special guest on the night.
Sweet Revenge will perform at 7.30pm, before Ricky's Breath takes to the stage at 9pm.
The EP can be purchased on iTunes or streamed through Spotify or Apple Music.
Ricky's Breath previously performed at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre back in May, for a Monthly Band Night in support of Canberra indie folk band Tipsy Scholars.
