VIVABILITY staff members are making a fundraising splash as they swim laps for sick kids.

The Vivability crew had a $1000 goal for their Super Swim for the charity the Starlight Children's Foundation, but have already raised $2560 - and they still have plenty of laps to go.
Participants in the Super Swim, which is being held from January 26 to February 24, set swimming goals and encourage friends and family to support them through donations.
Money raised goes to Starlight's hospital services for sick kids and their families.
"We set a goal to reach within a month and we set individual goals that contribute towards the team goal," Vivability's Arna Lew said.
"Our team goal is 68 kilometres and we've currently swum 39.85km."
Ms Lew said the Vivability team is a mixed bag of pool-goers.
"There are a few who are regular swimmers and some have never swum laps for fun before in our life."
But she said being part of a group was good for motivation.
"We've been going together [to the pool] and it encourages everyone else to get up and get going.
"It's a lot easier to do as part of a team than by yourself."
Vivability CEO Nick Packham said the Super Swim challenge tied in well with Vivability's wellness program, in which staff identify areas in which they'd like to improve in terms of their health.
And he said he had a particularly personal reason for taking part in the swim.
"Part of my motivation for doing the swim is that I have a niece who spent long periods of time at Westmead Children's Hospital," he said.
"The Starlight Foundation made her stays and the hospital stays of kids with serious illnesses more bearable."
Ms Lew said the lap-swimming had quickly become part of her routine.
"I was in Wagga for uni and I still went to the pool there. I did my kay."
