The production is slated for an August 2020 launch, and is currently after talented actors, singers, dancers and crew members for auditions later this month.
Director Sam English said the decision to put on Cinderella stemmed from a desire to produce a family-friendly show for the Bathurst community to enjoy.
"It's a story that everyone knows, but our production of Cinderella will be heavily inspired by the 1997 television movie with Whitney Houston," Mr English said.
"A lot of the songs in the 1997 version have a more modern feel, which will help audiences forge a stronger connection to the source material."
Mr English said Cinderella will serve as a pilot for potential future BTC musicals.
"I wouldn't mind eventually branching out into more adult-orientated musicals such as Priscilla, Queen of the Desert and Hair," he said.
"It's all about providing a diverse variety of entertainment options for the community to get involved in."
BTC president Vince Melton said Mr English's passion to produce a piece of musical theatre has encouraged the company to bring musicals back into their repertoire.
"We've had success with murder mystery dinners in recent years, but Sam has displayed a great deal of commitment towards getting Cinderella off the ground," Mr Melton said.
"BTC originally started off producing musicals and with the wealth of talent in the Bathurst community, we're confident that Cinderella will be a great show to put on."
Keystone 1889 owner Trish Carr said Cinderella will suit the venue's desire to attract unique live entertainment events.
"Our agenda for 2020 is to bring more life into the venue through live performance and the obvious place to start is our local roots," Ms Carr said.
Auditions for Cinderella will be held at the Bathurst Uniting Church Hall on Thursday, February 27 at 6pm and Sunday, March 1 at 12pm. For more information, contact Mr English on 0414096877 or cinderellabtc2020@gmail.com.
