Knowles' show From The Heart will appear on the BMEC stage at 2pm next Saturday, February 22. $18 tickets are available for seniors and pensioners.
A gold and platinum award winner, Karen Knowles is one of Australia's favourite singers, renowned not only for her inspiring vocals but also her warmth, authenticity and community work.
Star of the musical Big River and lead singer with The Seekers in the early 1990s, Karen started her career on Young Talent Time and became the highest selling Australian female recording artist for two consecutive years.
Karen's best known hits include Why Won't You Explain, You are the Reason, By Request, La Vie en Rose, Amazing Grace and Moonglow. She'll be accompanied by musical director Beverley Kennedy on piano and Caerwen Martin on cello.
Knowles will perform a repertoire of her biggest hits over an hour as well as songs from her recently completed album Solid Ground.
Solid Ground is her seventh studio album and also features authorised, sacred Wiradyuri songs with introductions. Knowles was gifted these songs by Wiradyuri elder Min Mia and the album and a performance at Inland Sea of Sound are the outcomes of a long journey of cultural connection and sharing.
Karen will be staying on in Bathurst to be involved in Sing Up The Earth, the Wiradyuri Welcome performance for Inland Sea of Sound on February 29 atop Wahluu, in collaboration with local elders and artists.
Knowles will be joining singers Kelsey Iris, Sue Price and Jessie Lloyd, and all will perform their own music too. It will be a collaboration not to be missed.
