The Australian Institute of Architects is inviting local government planners, builders and members of the public to attend the forum, which will be held at KeyStone (formerly the Carrington).
A panel of experts will examine the role of an architect, the benefits they bring to a project and the role the NSW Architects Registration Board can play in sourcing a qualified architect.
"This event will be of interest to anyone who has ever wondered what an architect does or is building or renovating a house or commercial project and want to get the best out of their engagement with the architect," regional architect and county division committee member of the Australian Institute of Architecture NSW Chapter Noel Thomson said.
The panel will include Bathurst Regional Council manager of strategic planning Janet Bingham; Bathurst Regional Council planning and environment director Neil Southorn; Laura Cockburn, architect with Conrad Gargett and vice-president of the NSW Chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects; and NSW Architects Registration Board registrar Dr Kirsten Orr.
Places are limited. Registration is required at www.eventbrite.com.au/e/design-and-planning-forum-bathurst-fri-13-mar-tickets-92828106365
The free event will be held on Friday, March 13 from 4.15pm to 5.30pm.
