Ms Ferguson, who was named 2019 Bathurst Showgirl at a function in April last year, is a local woman, but is studying at Charles Sturt University Wagga Wagga.
She and her fellow Zone 6 showgirls at Dubbo will be hoping to be named to travel to the Sydney Royal for the finals of the showgirl competition in April.
Ms Ferguson has spent the past three months travelling through the United States and Canada with a vet, and has also led a book drive to donate books to orphanages in Africa.
After graduating, she hopes to bring her skills back to the rural communities where she grew up.
She describes herself as passionate about youth and women in agriculture and has had a hands-on role in running her family property.

"I now have a platform where I can empower women in regional Australia to get more involved with agriculture," she said when she was named Bathurst Showgirl last year.
Showgirls at the Zone 6 final will be judged on their community involvement, rural and general knowledge and understanding of the agricultural show movement, as well as their presentation, goals and public speaking.
