The soccer pitch was donated to the school from Paddy's Hotel and the Bathurst Community Op Shop, with each year group granted access at lunchtimes on a rotational basis.
Kelso Public Stage 3 teacher Marcus Turnbull said the students have made productive use of the pitch.
"The students regularly use the pitch and I think they enjoy the idea of having a designated area for soccer," Mr Turnbull said.
"We received the pitch courtesy of Bathurst mayor Bobby Bourke, and Lance [Cooper, Kelso Public principal] happily obliged."
Kelso Public Year 6 student Dartanian Sadler said he's enjoyed having the soccer pitch installed at the school.
"It's great that the pitch has outlines, and me and my friends enjoy a lot of tightly contested games," Dartanian said.
Mr Turnbull said the students have to follow a particular set of rules to ensure their safety on the pitch.
"We remind students to keep the ball below the waist to prevent facial injuries and we limit numbers of students allowed on it at any given time," he said.
"Many of our students play soccer on the weekend, so the pitch gives them an area to hone their skills and work on their teamwork."
