Osteria Roma opened in the precinct last month with the goal to bring the emotive tastes of Italian delicacies to Bathurst.
Co-owner Jim Mitchell said the restaurant is perfect for foodies who enjoy an exemplary fine dining experience.
"We have an a la carte menu featuring a range of dishes from Italy's numerous culinary regions," Mr Mitchell said.
"In addition, the pizza is based on the same variants you'd see vendors serve on the streets of Rome, and the dough recipe is around 400 years old."
Mr Mitchell said the restaurant's process for making pizza follows a particular formula.
"The dough in our pizza undergoes a 72-hour maturation process," he said.
"In comparison, the maturation process for dough in regular pizza shops is only two hours."
Mr Mitchell said the restaurant's executive chef, Silvano Caponi, has extensive experience within the hospitality industry.
"Silvano was once on the culinary team for a world summit that included eight world leaders," he said.
"His portfolio is amazing, and I'm sure local foodies will be impressed with what he has to offer."
Mr Mitchell said the desirable location of the Tremain's Mill precinct offers a realm of possibilities for the venture.
"The train station and Bathurst Rail Museum are close by and since Doppio opened, the foot traffic has increased," he said.
In addition to the food, Mr Mitchell said the venue has a diverse list of wines on the menu.
"Most of our wine varieties are sourced locally from Vale Creek, who specialise in Italian style wines, including sangiovese, dolcetto and moscato variants," he said.
"We also try to use as much local produce as possible in our food; some ingredients we have to source from Italy to maintain that authentic touch."
Mr Mitchell said the venue is also considering a series of in-house events to showcase what the restaurant has to offer.
"We're looking at running special events out the back while the weather holds up, and it's a good location for birthdays and romantic dinners," he said.
"We're also considering lunch packages for tourists and school groups who may visit the nearby rail museum."
Osteria Roma is open from 6.30pm to 9pm from Wednesday to Sunday for dinner, and for lunch between 11.30am and 2.30pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
