Much Bathurst Regional Council work has been done to make this roundabout safe, but serious accidents still occur.
I believe the best solution would be to put in traffic calming structures - for example, speed bumps. There should be quite a few of them leading to the roundabout on all intersecting roads.
Other than those, traffic lights may be needed.
