After their well received performance of The Beatles' Rubber Soul late last year, The Original Masters Project will return to The Victoria Bathurst next Thursday for another show beaming with nostalgia.

This time, the quartet is turning their attention to America; the band, not the country.

The group, featuring Pat O'Donnell, Andy O'Donnell, Matt Arthur and Dave Egan, will perform History: America's Greatest Hits in full, including the popular songs 'A Horse With No Name' and 'Ventura Highway.'
Pat O'Donnell said the album is one of the group's favourite shows to do.
"We do classic albums like Rubber Soul, Moondance and Led Zeppelin IV, yet the strange thing about America is that their biggest selling album was a greatest hits record," he said.
"When Andy and I were growing up, we honed our harmonies on songs such as 'Ventura Highway,' 'I Need You' and 'Sandman.'"
The group debuted the show at The Agrestic Grocer in Orange last year to a positive response, and O'Donnell said Bathurst audiences can expect a solid show full of relatable songs.
"While the songs aren't exactly sophisticated, they possess infectious grooves and I think that's why America is popular among the baby boomer crowd," he said.
O'Donnell said the group follows an organised strategy to bring each record to life.
"We're confident in each other's abilities and whenever we pick an album, we each do our own homework to determine how to recapture it live," he said.
"Some albums don't require us to stray too far from the source material, but others can require a fair bit of compromise."
The Original Masters Project is looking to tour their classic album roster throughout NSW this year, and many of the band members will be in an upcoming BMEC show paying tribute to the music of 1970.
"Our job is to take people away from their normal lives for a few hours of nostalgia featuring acts that shaped popular music," O'Donnell said.
The America classic album night will get underway on Thursday, March 5 from 6pm. Tickets cost $25 and are available via Eventbrite.
