The region's major water storage, Ben Chifley Dam at The Lagoon, had been falling around one per cent week since October before recent storms - in conjunction with tighter water restrictions - helped slow the slide.
When Bathurst Regional Council conducted its weekly official reading on Tuesday, the dam was at 29.5 per cent capacity - a fall of just 0.1 per cent compared to a week earlier.

It was also the same figure recorded three weeks earlier on Tuesday, February 4.
The dam now has 8872 megalitres of water in storage and inflows had stopped on Tuesday.
However, the slowing fall rate at the dam has bought some valuable time for the region's irrigators with council now estimating the dam will remain above the 22 per cent cease-to-pump level until the end of April.
