Overnight on Wednesday, the World Health Organisation declared the coronavirus outbreak to be a pandemic.
The COVID-19 clinics will be established to not only test for coronavirus but also other respiratory illnesses such as influenza as the winter season approaches.

"NSW Health is also expanding the laboratory capacity across public hospitals and private laboratories to scale up the analytical testing to determine the results of those tests," a NSW Health spokesperson said.
In NSW, the number of coronavirus cases has jumped to 77.
As the virus spreads, NSW Health has confirmed that there have been more than 9100 people tested and excluded across the state, with a further 1004 cases still under investigation.

NSW Health said it would continue to find and respond to cases as they were diagnosed to slow any spread of coronavirus in the community.
A pandemic is an epidemic on a far greater geographic scale that affects a much larger number of people.
