Bathurst Combined Probus Club, which was formed in March last year, held its AGM and changeover lunch recently, where Stuart Pearson took the reins.
Mr Pearson said the new club is the youngest Probus club in Bathurst, but it was the first to allow men and women to become members.
"It has also been a raging success for in less than 12 months, membership has reached its maximum of 100 and people are now having to queue on a waiting list," he said.
Outgoing president Bill Dawson said the club had been "warmly received by the Bathurst community and everyone has told me what a great time they've been having".
Mr Pearson praised Mr Dawson and the inaugural committee for "doing such a sterling job in getting the club started and putting it on such a wonderful footing".
"These are big shoes for me to follow, but I've got such a brilliant committee to help me," he said.
"Next year Bathurst Combined Probus will continue to attract more members by offering genuine fun, fellowship and friendship."
Bathurst Combined Probus Club meets at 10am every third Tuesday of the month at Bathurst Panthers.
