HARNESS Racing NSW have suspended all meetings with immediate effect through til Thursday after an industry participant at last Thursday's Penrith meet had been in direct contact with a person confirmed to have contracted the COVID-19 virus.
The suspension will force the cancellation of this Wednesday's Gold Crown Carnival consolation meeting and trial races.
For meetings after Thursday - including Saturday's Gold Crown Finals night - fields will be drawn to facilitate the recommencement of harness racing at the earliest opportunity.
All persons who had direct contact with the industry participant have already been notified.
Racing will be temporarily suspended until the results of medical testing become available.
