Western NSW Local Health District announced on Wednesday that there were 21 confirmed coronavirus cases across its district, which covers around one-third of the state.
That prompted a dressing down of state health officials by Federal Member for Calare Andrew Gee, who took to his Facebook page to say the information was "too general".

"The more information the better. We need certainty as to exactly what is happening on our areas," Mr Gee posted.
"This basically only says 21 cases in the central west. I believe people would be calmer if they knew exactly where we stand.
"... The authorities need to step up on this."
Just a few hours later that is exactly what happened, with NSW Health releasing the number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in each LGA across the state.
Those figures showed that at 8pm on Wednesday, there were six confirmed cases in both the Bathurst Regional and Orange LGAs.
There were also confirmed cases in the Dubbo, Cabonne, Lithgow, Mid-Western (Mudgee) and Weddin (Grenfell) LGAs, but because there were fewer than five cases in each area NSW Health did provide exact figures for those council areas.
Waverley Council in Sydney's eastern suburbs had the highest number of COVID-19 cases with 105, followed by the Sydney City Council area (69) and Northern Beaches (68).
