Here are two examples from Charles Sturt University this week:
Telehealth assistance
THREE Rivers University Department of Rural Health (UDRH) has developed a free, short online course on telehealth to support our health professionals and staff through the COVID-19 crisis.
Three Rivers UDRH, led by Charles Sturt, supports the education, recruitment and retention of medical, dental, nursing and allied health professionals in rural and remote Australia.
IN OTHER NEWS:
In the current environment, health professionals are turning to telehealth as a mode to deliver services within their current practice for acute and chronic care.
The rate of change, adaptation and take-up of new skills and technologies is rapid, so this free, short online course has been designed to provide fast, practical support.
Telehealth - Embracing Technology in Healthcare provides an introduction to key concepts of telehealth.
The course incorporates a range of interactive opportunities, patient scenarios, resources and guides based on current practice, with a high focus on telehealth service delivery.
The course is available now to all future and existing health professionals and can be easily accessed from anywhere using an open learning platform.
The course consists of four modules: Telehealth Overview, Telehealth Technology, Telehealth in Practice, and Sustainable Telehealth.
Inquiries about the Telehealth - Embracing Technology in Healthcare course can be made by contacting the Three Rivers UDRH telehealth service co-ordinator at ThreeRiversTelehealth@csu.edu.au or on (02) 6051 9338.
2MCE is reaching out
OUR amazing team over at 2MCE, Charles Sturt University's community radio station, are also doing their best to remain positive and find creative ways to keep delivering quality radio content in difficult circumstances.
Station manager Lisa McLean has put out a call for community organisations and schools to contact her if they would like to make use of the station's broadcasting resources.
"Because of the pandemic, we're currently unable to provide access to the studios for recording, but we might be able to help schools, for example, in distributing lesson content via the airwaves," Ms McLean said.
"Potentially, we could broadcast audio lessons, topics, messages or content for students.
"It's possible that not all students can download large files, or have access to equipment or myriad other reasons preventing them from obtaining the content.
"2MCE could schedule your lesson in our broadcast, allowing your students to tune in and receive the lesson via the radio."
2MCE broadcasts to Bathurst, Orange and the Central West on 92.3 and 94.7FM.
Please contact the team at 2MCE@csu.edu.au if you have an idea of how your students or community organisation might benefit from working with the community station.
