The person had previously been diagnosed with COVID-19 before being admitted to Orange Base Hospital where they passed away today.
At the request of the family, no further details will be provided.
The Western NSW Local Health District offers its sincere condolences to family and friends.

A Western NSW LHD spokeswoman said it was critical that everyone continued to practise social distancing to minimise the risk of the transmission of COVID-19.
"This is important for everyone, but particularly for older people and people with health conditions that make them more vulnerable," she said.
"It's also important that we protect our health care workers who we need to stay well to provide care to people who become sick with COVID-19."
