Mrs O'Donnell, who lived by herself until she was 95 and did not go into St Catherine's until she was 100, could not have all her family celebrate her 102nd birthday with her because of the restrictions to stop the spread of coronavirus.
"But the staff went out of their way to make it a really happy day," her daughter Jan McGuire said.
"A bowl of roses decorated her dining table and she had birthday cake for dessert at lunchtime."

Mrs O'Donnell was born, grew up and lived her early life in Bathurst.
