My thanks goes out to all the staff members at Bathurst Base Hospital, including the rehabilitation wards.

I was a patient there for eight days recently.

By accident, I was on the "inside" looking out at a world that is hurting in every way.

Yet the loving and professional care of the staff was truly a gift.

It is important that the TV keeps us in touch with what is happening in our world.

However, in the face of the onslaught, our nursing staff seem to be able to put their own needs aside and give life, comfort and joy to us, their patients.

I would like to congratulate and thank all the medical staff and the administration for the way in which they are addressing this time of crisis.

We are proud of you all.
