While favourite Motor City Fever made an awful start from box seven Joni Keeping ($4.10), who started to his inside, was busy making huge inroads in the early stages.
Charmaine Roberts' bitch came across from the wide box with little trouble and saw off a huge comeback effort from Outlaw Tom ($13.10, Rob Littlefield) to win comfortably by four lengths.
The Dubbo trainer said it was a nice change of pace to see her young Fernando Bale bitch get off to a better start.
"It's always great to come over here and win a race. It was quite surprising because she's normally a slow beginner and she's never seen this track before," Roberts said.
"It was surprising, but once she got to the front she was never going to be run down.
"She wants further but this was the only distance she could get a run at today so this was why she stayed."
The inside starters all came out evenly and suffered a squeeze in Monday's race, giving Joni Keeping the perfect window to come across and take the lead.
Banjo Beware broke away from the tussle to given pursuit early but couldn't stay in touch with the leader.
Widest starters Outlaw Tom and Motor City Fever got away awfully from the boxes made put in commendable rescue efforts over the back half of the race.
But they weren't going to catch a flying Joni Keeping who kept a comfortable margin throughout the running.
Victory for Joni Keeping came in a time of 26.12 seconds.
Sell More Houses ($5.10, Rod McDonald) was third.
She'd made a consistent start to her career prior to Monday's breakthrough, having scored two placings on her home track before making her Bathurst debut.
