Bathurst Bakery owner Meng So made a personal delivery of the buns as his way of thanking medical staff for their efforts during the COVID-19 crisis.
Director of nursing and midwifery Tracy Whittich said it was a lovely surprise for staff as they went about their work, and was the latest in a series of thoughtful gestures from members of the community.

"The buns were delivered to the ED and we distributed them to all staff on duty. They were very well received and we would like to thank the bakery for that," Ms Whittich said.
"It's heart-warming to know the community is with us on this journey when none of us is really sure what's going to happen."
Ms Whittich said the hospital had also received colourful messages of support from a number of students at the Cathedral School.
The messages were printed on cards which are now displayed in the foyer.
"The response from the community means the world to the doctors, nurses and support staff at the hospital, just knowing the community is standing with us," Ms Whittich said.
"There's no major anxiety among the staff, we're just getting prepared and doing a lot of training, learning from what other countries and doing as much as we can."
