MORE accommodation options are set to be available to race fans at Mount Panorama if Bathurst councillors vote in line with a senior staffer's recommendations on Wednesday night.

A development application was lodged with Bathurst Regional Council last year, seeking to develop more tourist accommodation at 505 Conrod Straight.
The proposal involves a mixed-use development incorporating the change of use of an existing dwelling to tourist and visitor accommodation, the erection of a new dwelling, construction of five new cabins and two double carports, and the establishment of a primitive camping ground and associated facilities.
Other amenities, including a pool and new machinery sheds, would also be constructed.
The applicant, property owner Keith Tucker, told the Western Advocate last year that the $1.1 million development was aimed at meeting the overwhelming demand for accommodation at Mount Panorama.
"What we're putting on still won't cater for the inquiry, but if we put more on it would be visually polluting, I'd say," he said at the time.
"We know what we can do here and we've kept it to what we would call a bare minimum, and we're really going for that high-end accommodation, too. There's not a lot of that in Bathurst."

The DA that was lodged came after significant consultation between Mr Tucker and council.
Council is now ready to make a determination on the DA and the director of Environmental, Planning and Building Services has recommended it be approved with some conditions.
Among the conditions is that the property "is not to be used for commercial motor race hosting", which means the land can't be used to provide viewing areas during race events "for fee or reward for 13 or more persons".
No more than 12 people will be allowed to stay at a campsite at any one time and there are to be no more than eight campsites on the site.
The site is also not allowed to be used as a primitive camping ground at any time when the Mount Panorama circuit is closed to the public.
A new access road will also need be constructed onto the property and finalised with decommissioning of the existing access.
This can be done prior to any occupation of the site or as the first stage of development to ensure there is adequate access from the outset.
Councillors will have the opportunity to discuss the DA at their ordinary meeting on Wednesday night before making a decision.
