Improvements have resulted in new multi-purpose sports courts and a fitness station installed on a parcel of land which is centrally located in the village.
The $544,118 initiative came from the state government's Stronger Country Communities Fund [$294,118] and from Bathurst Regional Council [$250,000].
State member for Bathurst Paul Toole said the addition of the sports courts were identified as an important component of a larger proposed recreational development in the village.
"The local community, through a consultation process, identified the need to include an active zone within the Perthville Village Square concept design," Mr Toole said.
"These improvements are part of a bigger picture development being envisaged for the precinct, including toilet amenities, picnic facilities, a nature play area, path and grassed areas as well as these multi-purpose sports courts and fitness station."
Perthville Development Group member John Trollor said the new facility is a magnificent asset for the village.
"We want to thank Council and the state government for this wonderful facility, which we hope to see grow in years to come," Mr Trollor said.
