Between 9am on Wednesday and 9am on Friday, 53.8 millimetres of rain was recorded at the city's official weather station at the Bathurst Airport.
Out at Duramana, farmer Charlie Dutton recorded almost identical figures to what was recorded in town, with his gauge reading 53mm.
He said the rain has come at a good time, as the region heads into winter.
"It's been good timing and it's really nice," he said.
"We've got a reasonable amount through March and April and it's made for some good pasture growth.
"Some of the dams are overflowing, while some aren't quite as full."
It won't be until next week when Bathurst will be able to find out if the recent rainfall has found its way into Chifley Dam, with updates on the water capacity normally released around the middle of the week.
The dam level currently stands at 30.3 per cent as of April 28, while Winburndale Dam is at 86 per cent capacity.
Snow had also been forecast for Friday at some of the higher ground in the region including Oberon, Jenolan Caves, Yetholme and Mount Canobolas, however, this only resulted in a few flakes out at Black Springs.
There's a chance of rain again on Saturday, however, the total would be less than one millimetre.
The daily minimum will remain rather cool for the next few days, with a low of 3, 2 and 0 Saturday, Sunday and Monday respectively.
A high of 8 degrees on Saturday has been forecast, followed by 12 on Sunday and 15 on Monday.
