Since the venue was purchased by Campbell Gibson and Annette Amerio in 2006, it has seen its fair share of club nights, live music [bands and DJs] and regular punters enjoying an afternoon or evening beverage.
To reflect on past events, the venue has been posting old photo albums to their Facebook page to share memories with their regular clientele.
"We want to remind people of the great times we've experienced at the venue over the years and the regulars that have contributed to them," Ms Amerio said.
"There was no social media when we first started, and these photo albums reflect a era where we were more of a low-key late night venue, and our regulars are appreciating all the memories," Mr Gibson added.
Like all local pubs, the Elephant and Castle has had to temporarily close due to COVID-19 restrictions, and Mr Gibson said it's been tough for the venue and their patrons.
"A hotel is different to other places of employment in the sense that it's a largely social environment, and our staff have been finding it hard without those regular interactions with customers," he said.
"In addition, our older patrons who would stop by for their daily social outing are finding it difficult as for many of them, it's their only opportunity to socialise."
However, the COVID-19 period hasn't been all doom and gloom, as it has allowed the owners to reflect on the business and how to enhance current offerings.
"The shutdown has allowed us to sit down and consider our options regarding events, facilities and presentation," Mr Gibson said.
"When we first bought the place, it was known for its alternative crowd and live bands before the culture shifted towards DJs and a wider customer base, so we've always had to move with the times to ensure everyone's comfortable."
"We've also had a lot of time to clean up the place and arrange renovations to give the venue a fresh look for when we reopen," Ms Amerio added.
With no time frame yet as to when pubs will reopen, Mr Gibson and Ms Amerio said it will be more important than ever for the Bathurst community to support their local watering hole.
"It's the same deal with every venue in town, everyone will need to come out and support their 'local'," Ms Amerio said.
"While this situation could change the way we socialise, socialisation is key to keeping local venues going," Mr Gibson added.
