DURING the 2019 Bathurst Netball Association season the spotlight was usually fixed on the top-string Panthers team but one of their other squads, Agriwest, enjoyed flying under the radar.

And they were getting ready to repeat that strong performance before the coronavirus delayed the start of this season.
Ange Best's Panthers Agriwest side were the definition of 'improving with every game' in last year's competition, eventually finishing in third place - only one spot behind their more experienced club counterparts.
They went down in the minor semi-final but learned a lot on their way through the season.
The team were excited to build on that work during the off-season but despite the delay Best said the excitement for netball is still strong among the squad.
"It's disappointing that they only get half the season but they're all still very excited," she said.
"I've got a good team this year. Agriwest will be as strong as ever.
"I can't wait to get them into training and get them on the board. We haven't been able to do any at all. That will commence as soon as the government says we can.
"I'd love to find another top three finish if we can get it again."
Agriwest has gone through some player turnover in the 2019-20 off-season but it's all looking positive for the new look squad, who can't wait to get stuck into training.
They've gained some experienced players to help guide the younger members and improve their game.
Best said that youth-experience mix every team loves to aim for is looking perfectly balanced in her side.
"I've lost a couple and gained a couple, and I think my team is up there with a really good chance of finishing in the top three. It's a bold prediction but we'll be pushing hard and we'll see how we go," she said.
"I've got Amy Love, who is an ex-A grader who is making a comeback. She was a rep player for many years as well. She brings a little bit of depth to my defensive end.
"Clancy [Best] will be strong from playing her Sydney netball and her training there. Our mid court looks as strong as ever with everything staying the same there.
"Kit Richardson has been an excellent shooter for us. If she fires up then we'll be in a good position."
Best said repeating the top three finish remains an early goal for the team, especially since a finals structure hasn't not been put in place for any grades yet.
"It would be great to match it with those top teams," she said.
"Depending on how we run the season in Bathurst we might not even end up having semi-finals - it could just be the top three who go through.
"It's exciting times for everyone, waiting for it to come back."
