Vivability is currently hiring for 10 new support worker roles, with an aim to angle them in particular towards people who have been put out of work due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We're preferably looking for people who have experience working with people with a disability, although we understand that's not always the case," Vivability chief executive officer Nick Packham said.
"If you're someone with excellent interpersonal skills and are able to show empathy and compassion for the needs of others, then we want to talk to you."
Mr Packham said Vivability has had to put precautions in place to work around COVID-19, but is set to recommence one-on-one client services today.
"We've had to close two group-based programs; recreation and access; but we've been able to divert existing staff members into high-demand roles," he said.
"We have 181 members of staff and, to date, we've managed to keep everyone employed."
For more information on the roles, contact human resources manager Blake Aubin on 63019502 or blake.aubin@vivability.org.au.
